How the digital innovation of our screens makes teaching interactive and inclusive

What needs or obstacles do you encounter in education? 

In education, we’re facing more and more challenges that can interfere with learning. Traditional projectors are becoming outdated and often fail, causing frustration and lost class time. At the same time, publishers are increasingly using digital tools, such as interactive board books and student tracking systems with remedial exercises, which require a reliable digital infrastructure. Students now use Chromebooks, and it’s crucial that they can easily share their screens with the class. 

A digital screen is the perfect solution: it combines the functions of a projector, an interactive screen, and a collaboration platform in one, making education more efficient and dynamic.

Which Legamaster solution do you use to solve or improve current needs, problems, or applications?

We are gradually replacing our interactive projectors with Legamaster EVOLVE 2 touchscreens (ETX-7540 EU in our latest order). The plan is to equip an entire school year with these touch monitors each year. This way, within 5 school years, we will be fully equipped with up-to-date material. How does our product add value to your daily activities and needs?

Choosing the Legamaster touchscreens was a well-considered decision that aligns perfectly with our ICT operations. Our organisation has been using Google Workspace for years, and since the ‘Digisprong’ initiative, we have fully embraced Chromebooks. The seamless integration of Google Workspace tools like Google Drive and Gmail makes the Legamaster touchscreens an ideal addition to our existing setup. This ensures an efficient and familiar working environment for both teachers and students. 

Another key advantage of the Legamaster touchscreen is its ability to cast multiple screens simultaneously. This gives teachers and students the flexibility to share content from various sources and collaborate in real time, creating a more interactive and dynamic learning environment. 

Additionally, the monitor comes with built-in AI tools that provide a handy extra feature, contributing to a smarter and more efficient way of teaching. Automatic recognition of handwriting and shapes, as well as advanced search functionalities, support teachers in preparing and delivering lessons. 

The screen itself offers an extremely pleasant viewing experience, with bright colors and sharp images that present teaching materials clearly and attractively. Moreover, the audio is of high quality, ensuring that instructions and multimedia content are clearly audible, even in larger classrooms. 

Another crucial aspect is the ability to use two whiteboard panels. Many teachers still prefer writing on a traditional non-digital board, and this functionality allows for a hybrid approach that combines both digital and analogue methods. 

Finally, the Legamaster Touch monitor offers the option for an electric or tiltable lift. This is an essential feature in classrooms with younger children, where adjustable height contributes to ergonomic and inclusive education.

Which aspect do you find most valuable? Or what do you like most about this product? 

The perfect integration of Google Workspace with the latest version of the EVOLVE series has become a major advantage. This has led teachers to use the board more frequently in ‘standalone’ mode. 

Would you recommend this solution to other schools, and what would you mention? 

Absolutely! The EVOLVE boards are a dream to work with, both for teaching and for managing as an ICT coordinator. And the excellent service we receive from our partner Interoffice throughout the entire process (from purchase to after-sales service) is perhaps even more important… 

Do you have any tips to improve our solutions? 

The innovative developments that the screens have undergone in recent years make me especially curious about what the future holds. So, occasional teasers of features in development or surveys among users might be interesting.
